Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of UpAsk, provided by the UpAsk operator (address available on request). By creating an account or using the service you agree to them.

1. The service

UpAsk lets you upload PDF, Word and text documents and ask questions about them. Answers are generated by an AI model from your documents and cite the passages they rely on. AI answers can be incomplete or wrong; check important information against the cited source. UpAsk is not professional legal, medical or financial advice.

2. Your account

You must provide accurate details, keep your login secure and be responsible for activity under your account. You must be old enough to enter a binding contract where you live.

3. Your content

You keep ownership of the documents you upload and the questions you ask. You give us the limited permission needed to store them, process them (including sending them to our AI provider, see the Privacy Policy) and show you the results. You are responsible for having the right to upload your documents. We do not use your documents to train our own models.

4. Acceptable use

• No unlawful content or use, and no content that infringes other people's rights.
• No attempts to access other users' data, probe or disrupt the service, or bypass usage limits.
• No automated bulk use beyond what the plan and the rate limits allow.

We may suspend accounts that break these rules.

5. Plans, limits and payment

The Free plan and paid plans have limits on documents, storage, pages and questions, shown on the pricing section and the billing page. Paid plans renew automatically each month or year until cancelled. Payments are handled by our payment provider Paddle, which acts as merchant of record and is responsible for taxes and invoices. You can cancel at any time from the billing page; access continues until the end of the paid period. If you move to a smaller plan while over its limits, existing documents are kept but new uploads are blocked until you are within the limits.

6. Deleting your data

You can delete documents, workspaces and your account at any time, and export a workspace. See the Privacy Policy for what is removed.

7. Availability and changes

We work to keep UpAsk available but do not promise uninterrupted service. We may change the service or these terms; for material changes we will notify you in the app or by email.

8. Liability

The service is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses or for decisions made based on AI answers, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including your statutory consumer rights.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the country where the operator is registered.
